Vāsthu Nāḷ (வாஸ்த்து நாள்) — How to use this timetable

Vāsthu Nāḷ refers to auspicious windows for house-related activities: bhoomi pūjai, foundation start, purchase/registration, renovation, and gṛhapraveśam (moving in). The timetable above lists one or more morning nalla nēram slots in each Tamil month, with the kīḻamai (weekday), āṅkila tēthi (English date), and the start–end time. These windows are curated to be easy, practical starting points; the final muhurtham should still be confirmed with your family priest/astrologer based on the occupants’ janma rasi and nakshatra.

What this table gives you
  • Tamil month & date: Helps families plan well in advance.
  • Weekday: Many prefer Friday, Thursday, or Monday; some avoid Tuesday/Saturday depending on tradition.
  • Morning time block: Typically chosen to dodge Rahu Kālam, Yamagandam, Kuligai, and to align with day-quality factors (tithi, nakshatra, yoga, karana).
How to use it (step-by-step)
  • Shortlist 2–3 dates that suit your work: bhoomi pūjai, registration, key handover, moving in, or a renovation start.
  • Match with your charts: Share the short list with your priest to verify tithi/nakshatra and to avoid Chandrastama for the main grihapraveśam couple.
  • Plan logistics:
    • For bhoomi pūjai/foundation, arrange workers, machinery, and materials to be ready before the window opens so the first strike/act lands inside the muhurtham.
    • For registration/keys, the signing/receipt should happen inside the window; other formalities can happen around it.
    • For moving in, perform the gṛhapraveśa pūja in the window; shifting can continue later.
  • Localize the timing: Timings are published in IST. If you’re outside India or far from your city’s sunrise, convert and re-check.
  • Avoid the blockers: Reconfirm that the chosen slot does not overlap with Rahu Kālam or Yamagandam at your locality that day.
Quick checklist for the day
  • House cleaned; north-east area tidy and ready for kalasam/lamp.
  • Pūja items: kalasam, turmeric, kumkum, flowers, cow’s milk, curd, ghee, honey, jaggery, fruits, rice, coconut, camphor, incense, and a new stove/rice for first boil (paal paayasam or akal vilakku as per custom).
  • Water, salt, lemon kept handy if your tradition uses simple dṛṣṭi removal.
  • Keep documents/keys ready if it’s a registration or handover day.
Good to know
  • Some families prefer Valarpirai (waxing) for begins and Theipirai (waning) for closures; follow your lineage’s guidance.
  • If a muhurtham clashes with personal constraints, pick the next available window—consistency and calmness matter more than perfect timing.
Friendly reminder

This timetable is a practical guide to help you plan confidently. Treat it as your first filter; the final call should come from your priest/astrologer after considering individual birth details and local calendars. Wishing you a smooth start, prosperity, and harmony in your new space!
